anyone use mass automation tools or wordpress builder

Anyone use these scripts mass automation tools or wordpress builder or anything like it? Does wp mu do the same thing which is better the first one is a bit pricey at $197. Please list any other scpipts that will easily create many blogs from one panel without the pain of creating sub's and databases.
