I believe someone on WF originally got me onto it. I made a small deposit to see how it all works out. So far so good after a few months and on a very small scale. 18 loans partially funded ($25 a piece) for a total of $450. Collected around $30 interest from $60 in payments.

Just curious if anyone has scaled these Lendingclub investments out to 4 or 5 figures? These interest rates are insane in comparison to any traditional investments and the loan segmentation isolates your risk and makes total sense.

If you sign-up under me I can give you a few basic tips. Shoot me a PM.

my free $50 sign up bonus from 2009 has got a 15% return thus far, I have considered putting actual real money in, just havent pulled the trigger.

i have a little over a grand in. your rate will start to come down as your account gets older and you get a couple defaults. but its still very good compared to other investments.

Eh not so much thats why you keep doing small loans. The more spread you have the more it will average out.

Anyways, yes I have scaled, yes the % is still good. Just remember your money is basically locked in for length of loan you choose. Ideally you want to keep investing your payments and interest to grow with real scale.

This is interesting. How long does it generally take to get your money back? I'm guessing they have 30 day, 60 day, etc loans?

EDIT:

Never mind. I see the loan lengths on their site now.

Here in the UK I think Zopa is between 6% and 11%. With payday loans there is also The Lending Well that claim up to 12%, but they are new. Would rather invest in low risk sports betting or arbitrage myself. You need far too much capital to make any decent money.

Solid feedback guys. Right now my net annualized return is sitting at 22%. I am funding 100 notes today and seeing where that goes. I will probably get a little more conservative as I go. Ironically I am having a hard time grasping these risks yet I will gladly poor money into stocks.

I put $30k in a little over a year ago, and reinvesting like BigWill suggested. So far 11% Net Annualized Return. That return does not include Service Fees, so take about 1% off that for the real ROI.

Issued & Current: 1,444 notes
Fully Paid: 91 notes
Late 16 - 30 Days: 5 notes
Late 31 - 120 Days: 30 notes
Default: 3 notes
Charged Off: 22 notes

Hmm, might give Zopa a go, sounds like a pretty awesome concept. Can't seem to find any horror stories out there, either. (Except some news article going on about a 0.8% default rate.. which IMO isn't bad at all..)
