Thinking about getting it to create a forum- anyone have experience w/ it or know of any promotional programs going on for discounts?
 


vB is probably the best forum tool out there. The site you are on now, uses vB. The only sorta discount I can think of is for you to go to WebHostingTalk.com and try to buy an older license. WHT will help make sure the key is legit before you can buy it.

You'll also get access to vb.org which is their mod central.
 
Compartively speaking it is cheap, and worth every penny. If you can afford it get it.

If you want to make two payments, you can get a lease license, and then have 60 days to pay the difference for the owned license + $10.00
 
or you can steal it like I did.. but buying it is better, otherwise people like me will have nothing to steal.
 
I use vBulletin and I think it is the best forum software available. If you're launching a serious forum, there isn't a better choice IMO

haha- i was thinking about that - but since i want to set up a legit site i was worried about customer support... blah.
 
Is it a pain in the ass to upgrade a PHPbb to a vb?

Also, how much is a licence?
