Not sure if anyone invests in bonds, I had a modest amount bestowed upon me but it's a bit confusing to figure out how to manage them effectively.

Say you had a bunch of series EE US bonds with final maturity rates ranging from 2016-2035.

What is the best way to handle this, is there any benefit to cashing them out exactly when they reach maturity? Would you convert them to something else?

It is going to depend on your cash needs, your investment objectives and current portfolio, where you believe short-term and long-term interest rates will go and also when the bonds were purchased and the current value of the bonds.

A brief overview on the Series EE bonds: Individual - EE Savings Bonds In Depth

Personally (and this is not intended as investment advise) I would not own intermediate or long maturity debt instruments.

gov bonds = return free risk

take a look at non-gov inflation statistics and you'll see why bonds are in a gigantic bubble

For anyone who finds themselves in front of a magistrate who imposes a good behaviour bond when jail could be an alternative, count yourself lucky.
