Anyone can recommend an autoresponder script?

looking for a mailing list/autoresponder script I can host myself to grab emails, must support double optins. I know about GetReponse and Aweber but they aren't suitable

I suggest using a service like iContact. It's very hard to deliver to the inbox and the money you make paying for the service always makes up for the money spent for it.
