yeah topic says it all. iam searching a managed vps to host my websites on (cpv) anyone can recommend a good one. Or is a vps not necessary and i should better choose shared hosting? The reason why i tend to use a vps is because of cpv traffic and i think shared could be to slow for that? anyone?

wiredtree.com was nominated by a lot of folks in another thread and after trying them out I have to say I am more than happy with the managed VPS.

I used coupon "V512-505050" to get

50% off first month
50% more ram for free
50% more disk space for free

It depends on how much support you want, I've got a few with hostgator and whenever I've ever had any issues they've been quick to respond and you can always get them on the phone within a few minutes (I'm calling from Aus and this can sometimes be a huge problem, not sure what the US support is like).

It's more expensive sure but it depends on how profitable your sites are to begin with.

Managed VPS | VPS Hosting | VPS Server | VPS Web Hosting | WiredTree

I run a busy forum on WiredTree's Hybrid Server package for $124, but they offer managed VPS for $50/mo.

Best host I've ever had. Support tickets are answered within 5 minutes, which is huge for me, and they'll pretty much do anything for you. -- Which is exactly what you want from a managed service.

Otherwise, my advice is to pay extra for quality service. The best feature after speed/reliability a host can give you is a knowledgeable support staff that possesses the discretion and experience to debug/fix problems for you. You'll find super cheap VPS packages around the net, but understand the trade-off.

I use wiredtree for my important sites and recommend them. And I also use VPSLatch for my not so important sites. Both are managed, wiredtree is topnotch. VpsLatch is more affordable.
Eitherway, google for wiredtree coupons before you sign up. You will save a lot using coupons
