I use a Mini and a Macbook. So far, no problems, but wondering if I should download Boot Camp and install Windoze on my Macs so I have access to all software.

Everything I have to access online has been cross-platform, as the internet is the great equalizer.

I just don't understand why people buy MACS and put Windows on it. Why? I don't buy a PC to put a MAC OS on it, why is it common to go the other way? If the answer is software or games, then why didn't you buy a PC? Ah well.

PHP, Web Design, Graphic Design, FTP, SSH.... Pretty sure you can do all those things on the MAC, And I'm not sure what else you'd need

Of Course!

I use a mac for all my work and prefer it. Of course I'm a developer and prefer it because it's unix. But there shouldn't be any problems. As for parallels I can second that recommendation, it's a great piece of software(if you have enough ram).

Scott: I bought my MBP because it was one of the best laptops on the market at the time and ran OS X. That doesn't mean I don't need other OS's at times. On any given day I'll use 3 OS's and a lot of days 4. Different OS's are better at different things so why try to limit yourself?

Yup, use a mac here too.
Have bootcamp installed for the windows software that doesnt have a mac alternative

That's what I figured, and will probably buy a used copy of XP from Ebay, as it's probably good enough. Only my Macbook can run this though, as my Mini uses the Motorola chip.

Never mind you already answered that.

My point is that parallels runs extremely well on intel-based Macs. WAY better than Virtual PC.

Vista = Junk

Why get a OS that cant even give any computer a 10 out of 10

Dont even get me started on all of the issues most companies are having now after the upgrades.

But hate a MAC please

Leaves me more stock options. This june will be another insane month for Apple

Parallels does not equal the suckiness of Virtual PC

Just FYI, Windows XP on Parallels runs without you even really being able to notice that you're not booted natively into Windows (and I just have a low-end macbook with 2gb ram). The only exception being if you're going to be doing something processor intensive, like video encoding, you're going to want to boot into Bootcamp.

I have Mac laptops and a PC desktop - I can do everything on my Mac except for PPC - AdWords Editor is a must for me.

Thanks, but Parallels a virtual machine, and Boot Camp allows Mac users to run Win native, as the microprocessor is made by Intel in the most recent Macs.

I use Virtual PC on another machine, and it's very slow and unstable.
Yes and Parallels runs Windows natively too. If I remember correctly, you can't even run Parallels with PPC Mac. There is no emulation. Dude, do your research!

May be so

I got MBP, with 2 gigs of RAM and parallels installed.
Still, at the beginning it's all good, but after some Windows Updates it loads so slow and slows my OSX significantly.

I think I'll buy another PC just for all the Windows related stuff and remove the parallels.( I sure can use more space)

Try setting XP's memory down to 128MB. Sounds stupid, but it actually worked for me. OSX is way much faster and XP is way much faster. It used to be 512MB.
