The official release of Android 2.2 (Froyo) finally came out for it today! But the update won't work on my phone anybody else have a Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate and successfully install the update today?

I had one 'till it got stolen, then I got this motorola smart phone piece of shit which I'll probably review and then smash it at the end of the video. I miss the galaxy, slapped the shit out of the iPhone. It'll probably be what I get again this time.

I have a Vibrant. Root it and install a better ROM from the XDA-Developers forum if you don't mind messing around with that kind of stuff. I think I have been running 2.2 since about a week after I bought the phone last fall. I believe the newest custom ROMs have pieces of 2.3 from the Nexus S mixed in with 2.2. Converting the laggy RFS filesystem that Samsung used to ext4 instead is a HUGE improvement.

I got a Sprint Epic that was upgraded OTA to froyo a few weeks ago, seems like it just created more issues. Doesn't seem to run anything faster, shuts off by itself with 20% battery left while I'm talking. I read alot of comments on androidcentral with other strange stuff occurring.

Nexus One here with Android 2.3 Gingerbread MUHAHAHAHAHA

Thinking of getting the Nexus S, not too sure yet...

Yeah custom ROMs FTW. I get mine from Modaco

I would still be on 2.1 with my ZTE Blade (best cheap smartphone ever) but the guys at Modaco have released stable 2.2 and 2.3 ROMs.

There was even a semi working Honeycomb ROM for the ZTE

my friend has one as well, says its working fine after update. Thinking of getting one after my contract expires on my iphone 3s.

I have the sprint epic after the upgrade it has been laggy as crap, battery life cut by 80%

Wish I could go back to 2.1

The lady friend has it and just updated yesterday without any issues (Verizon).

All I can say is if you aren't rooted you need to be. Its fun as hell to try out different ROMS. I am still rocking the original Droid but just loaded a Gingerbread ROM onto it the other day with lots of extra custom options.
