I've been working out for 11 years now and it is starting to get tough to motivate myself. A couple of my friends have started doing Crossfit and they love it.

Anyone here do it? What are you experiences?

On a good note I noticed there are alot of hot chicks who go to the location I'm interested in...

I fkn hate crossfit, so much broscience and bullshit being passed around there.

What are your goals op, if we have those we can help you get a better answer.

brah, 11 years and you're no longer motivated. I don't know what to tell you.

I think crossfit is a bunch of shit and not worth doing. Since you have a weight lighting background your form is perfected and I don't see you injuring yourself.

What was the reason you workout? Chicks? Health? I say stick to the tried and true leave the fads to the asshats.

That gif illustriates another reason i hate these fkn tards. kipping chins and pull ups is a great way to fkn destroy your shoulder, along with the fkn bastard of a power clean they teach. oh yeah and the weighted squats while standing on a medicine ball, the list of derp ass shit they do is endless.

What?

You don't incorporate this reverse DL/Calf raisie/BB shurgs into your routiene.

^^ This. Crossfit is pretty much a joke unless you're just going there to creep on the females. Depending on your goals, a decent free weight/machine routine plus decent diet would be a better use of your time.

I am know a ton of physical therapists who will be happy to see you after you rape your shoulders and back lifting stupid shit over your head 1000 times.

In theory, it's a great idea. I love sprints and HIIT type stuff. But in practice, most of these people are morons. If you're older than 25, beware - you're eventually going to fuck something up.

lmao i graduated from the ranks of curlbro a couple years ago thankfully.

i like to keep things simple and heavy with a lot of compounds.

rows, deads, atg squats, chins, cleans, and dips

p.s. - squats will build the fuck out of your abs, that is if you can manage to get a set in with all the fkn tards curling in the squat rack =(

The reason I'm interested in it is that I want to start doing Tough Mudder, Spartan Race, etc annually. Those are more about muscular endurance/cardio than strength. The only thing that really prepares you for those races in Crossfit.

pull ups is a great way to fkn destroy your shoulder/QUOTE]

Absolute bollocks. This is only true with shit form and done incorrectly, the same as ANY lift.

The only lifts you need to do are squats, deadlifts, weighted pull-ups, and bench. Occasional accessory lifts, but maybe 1-2x/week.

Then I'd recommend you look into Starting Strength with cardio thrown in the mix, just be sure to calculate your macros correctly.

you misunderstood what i was saying. im saying that kipping pullups is a great way to fkn destroy your shoulders. controlled pullups performed correctly should be a staple in anyone's routine.

here's what crossfit encourages...

My good friend is a very high profile Physical Therapist. I've been telling him to get a book written on the top 10 Crossfit Injuries for a while. Nobody likes going to the doctor until it's too late. He's piss his own profession off though.

Seeing as though weightlifting / weight lifting has been around for a LOT longer than CrossFit, and there are far more people who weight train... I find this amusing.

LOL, i love this forum.
