It is considered a good sign that spiders visiting your site as often as it would. Usually we notice it thru the weblog.

Are you also concern about it? If so how you counting how often is google visiting your work at home site instead of using the weblog?

Is there any correlation between how often the spiders visiting our site with the page rank? And where are the spiders coming in from?

If you have decent stats, it will tell you what spiders have visited your site and when. Awstats comes to mind.

From what I have found, it depends on several factors from new inbound links (backlinks), page update frequency, and yes, popularity.

Every search engine is different and the spiders behave differently.

Yes it's good if spiders are there often, new content will get indexed faster.
After let's say google bot has been there, it will come back regularly to check for new content. It don't have to find you site from a link again.
