I tried and failed to get adlogger up and running so have decided to write my own php/mySql solution.

I've got it working whereby if the same IP visits more than a predetermined number of times a day to my arbi sites, the adsense stops showing. However if occurred to me late on that yahoo will be checking key words so they'll need to be NOT blocked. I'm now worried that there may be other considerations that i've not though of.

If anyone else has any things to remember before i go live - please let me know.

Use javascript and actually log the clicks on the ad units, I think Shoe uncovered MBL doing this, maybe you can steal there script

ok - yeah thanks for that. maybe i'll tag that on later as i'm keen to get the click fraud up and running first and as soon as possible.

how about just dumping the suspect addresses into a temp table then writing a small admin panel that you can check regularly to blacklist/whitelist addresses?

yeah do-able.

Does anyone know if i need to leave access for (ie not block) google so they can check on the adsense? do they even do that?

Yeah you need to let google in, they are checking your site to make sure you have relevant ads, but as I said, try javascript so you don't have to block cloak adsense ads by people visiting but more by people clicking

i was about to argue that javascript could be turned off and so leave the adsense vulnerable - but as i've just found out, if you disable javascript - adsense doesn't show anyway!

way to go illusion - i'll make it so.
