I'm muslim by ideologies because I actually find gold in Quran whose meaning 99.9999% of Muslims don't understand ( Heck, maybe even more) . I have respect for ideologies this religion has to offer (not fatwa's ) . And Muhammad was just a prophet, like me and you.

My religion is the easiest to offend to. Recently in a placed called Ghaziabad in India, many people were killed, riots continued for days. Why ? Because some muslims found some pages of our holy book torn and having some abusive words. That's gross. Nobody needs to be killed for that. I look forward a muslim generation which respects the ideologies, makes fun of / respect Muhammad, I don't care.

If only mainstream Islam could be equated with sufism, what a different story this all would be!

It's funny that Rumi is the most read poet in America today. A mystical muslim for those who don't know. And a brand of islam radically different from that which most know.

And yes, humour is very important in sufism. They say that a man without humour and the ability to laugh at himself is not developed properly, and I'd say that most if not all of these hardline islamists lack this essential ability.
