he got hacked. happens to a lot of blogs. he's running wordpress 2.1.2 which is an older version, though it could've happened via some plugins or just poor server security.

Yeah, this has been happening to a lot of people recently. The Super-Douche-Mindset never upgraded his Wordpress.

Wordpress core is shit. Its complete chaos in terms of coding. Upgrading wordpress each week to fix one more hole is the equivalent to fixing windows by patching the holes in code that looks like swiss cheese.

If you're a blogger, do yourself a favor and check out Drupal. Admittedly its a little more technical to set up. But you won't have these issues.
