I've had good success with Amazon. I don't put amazon items on 'Info' sites, I keep CJ and other programs for that, these sites are strictly Amazon stores.
I've sold big stuff too: construction equipment, auto parts, etc.
People say, "It's not worth it, if people wanted to go to Amazon, they'd go to Amazon." Wrong thinking..you can say that about every affiliate program. That's the point of the affiliate.
Before you set up affiliate links or stores, I would check out other programs and see if you can make more selling the product elsewhere, incase the payout is bigger. If you find a program that pays more, ask yourself if it's a place you would buy from yourself. Some people are more inclined to buy from Amazon than Joe Blows Auto Parts, just b/c they know Amazon will ship their order - it's a trust factor. I had one site I was using a dropshipper doing fairly ok, but sales increased about 40% when I dropped the dropshipper and offered the same products through Amazon. Some products will sell better through Amazon than through other affiliates that are less known to the general public. It all depends on what you're selling though, some people like dealing with smaller companies, some don't. All you can do it test. Sign up for Amazon and other programs that sell the same items...then see which program brings in more cash.
