I was researching on this for a few days, since my ECP drop to half that it was. CPC drops from 0.6 to 0.3, - not account wide but 90% of the niches.

Am I smart-priced?
(I thought that I was. However, I read some threads saying that you are not smart-priced unless you are receiving 0.01 clicks. However, the earning do drop by 50%. It's not just a bad day, it has been more than a week)

Any opinion?

Hard to say, that happened to me awhile ago... i waited about 2 weeks and they popped back up to almost usual. So, it could be an anomaly... or you could be hosed.

smart pricing is account wide and is pretty drastic, i think you may have gotten a mild version of it.. if its possible

nah you're not smart priced at all.

dude can you share more experience? I am wondering it could be some advertiser add my site to their adwords filter so the competition is less and price is dropped....

I hope it is the case as it could be easily solved by changing domain name, however if it is smart pricing..... then really suck

At .03 a click you only need 1,000,000 clicks a month to reach your goal of $30,000

Congrats man. You're almost there. Just buy yourself a click bot and VOILA. MAGIC.

i think you can get half way smart priced. I started getting about 1/2 of was i was getting before, but it just went back up to normal again. I read that they reevaluate it on a weekly basis. But if you get fully smart priced that takes 1 month to get back to normal

Yes you can, Google takes a few things into consideration when determining your rate (%) per click. If you are concerned e-mail Google, im sure they would be more than happy to explain, as they did me.

If your ads are placed so that users are likely to accidently click and not convert your rates will drop, if your pages are 90% ad and 10% content your rates will drop..... From what ive been told by G .. im sure there are many more variables, but a click on your site may earn you 0.05 but the same ad may land me 0.50 depending ..... .... I wouldnt pay to much attention to it, throw another site up and move on......

I don't know if you realize this, but your CPC for adsense will not always be the same. what does this mean? You will have low and high days. you're probably just having a low day. does that answer your question? :xomunch:

it lasts about more than a week. And the ECP is just half of my average for last two month.

It hurts.

Yeah - recently I've had the same problem, gone from $1.10 CPM ish down to $0.40 CPM.. What a pain in the ass. Had a few emails from google though about working on optimizing things a bit so hopefully that'll help. Maybe this is why 4th quarter profits were so high - increasing their %? ;)
