Alternatives to PayPal?

I'm starting to get annoyed with PayPal... and doing a quick search online for alternatives, I found out there's lots of anti-PayPal blogs out there. Looks like a lot of people are having bad experiences with this payment platform (and their totally absent customer service).

What other "affordable" alternative is good for receiving payments online through bank or credit cards? I know there are a lot of them: MoneyBookers, 2Checkout, Google Checkout, etc... but I never tried any of them (I just don't like the idea of having my banking information in many websites, so I'd rather choose the best one!)

Thanks!

Stay away from 2checkout. They will keep your money indefinitely under the guise of "there is a prevalence of fraud" weeks and weeks will go by while they assure you "they are working diligently to confirm/validate purchases" while the customers never get calls. Their customer service reps are professional-lingo tools without any real action behind the nice and encouraging words. They basically delay and delay while the customer gets what they paid for and the merchant is left out to dry and never pay them out. Dealing with them was one of the worst experiences I've ever encountered online. Ultimately had to refund all payments, but they rely on the fact that most merchants prefer to wait rather than refund. look em up for scams and frauds. Once you deal with them, you'll go running back to paypal knowing what real "bad service" is.

here's the email you receive from them the first day that you are due any payment: (after this, it is pretty much indefinite waiting)

I apologize for the delay in your payment. Because of the prevalence of fraud it is necessary to approve accounts for legitimacy and periodically review existing accounts to maintain a continuous quality standard. To do this, we contact customers to verify their satisfaction with the order they received. Typically this process is transparent, however we have been unable to verify the required amount of orders for your account. Your payment for this cycle has been postponed. We are working diligently on your account and will notify you of your expected payment date. Thank you for your patience. Verification Staff.

I use Money Bookers but I hope it's restricted only to USA. This need to check out and it's really cool and easy to use.

What about a straight wire transfer? That's how I get paid.

well a straight wire transfer isn't really professional. I'm trying to act as if I was a company here lol so I want an easy & professional solution for clients to use. I like the fact that PayPal lets you customize your Checkout page, add your logo, etc...

Basically I'd like a solution like PayPal but with better Customer Support.

real nightmare mtg, I could go on and on about how when you contact them they encourage you to make more sales and send them more money so that your "fraud score" goes down, and when you do, it's still not enough. It's a frustrating no win scenario.

^ sounds like a nightmare madmax

what do the small/medium online companies use then?
Moneybookers is good. Where are you located? If you can get hold of a US address & SSN/EIN you have a lot of options. You can even get a real merchant account & gateway with very good rates. Propay.com is popular with small shops, they offer a virtual terminal & don't pull sneaky shit like 2co.

Not sure how difficult it is to get a merch. account in canada, but that'd be the way to go. Not hard to do in the US at all, just use authorize.net.. they find a bank that'll provide the merch acct and everything.

Merchant account is best but if you're Canadian, you should check out Beanstream.

Old-looking GUI, but has the features you need.

Moneybookers all the way + lower fees for receiving money p2p, max of 0.50Eur/$
Moneybookers is in many ways better than paypal except the fact that paypal is more popular so you still have to use paypal. But moneybookers is my number 1 of all, been using them for years

The BEst alternative to Paypal is:

Plimus: They accept payment from paypal and support all country and its free to join. If some one from un-verified paypal transact through your plimus then they will receive a call for a fraud check but this process take takes max 1-6 hours

Moneybookers: Best, Cheapest and free but they donot accept payment through paypal :/

2Checkout: Stay Away from this shit and cost $49 (one time stupid fee)

Recommendation:
Plimus.
