I just read about something called AlternateURL for substituting your lower adsense ads with higher ones? I'm not exactly sure how it works...does anyone use it?

Simply when you create the ads on adsense you can choose what should happen if there are not enough ads to show. You can choose between charity, just show a background color, or to get ads from another url.

It looks like all they are doing is giving you ad code to fill in as your alternate ad in AdSense. Nothing special there. Besides, once you have adsense on your site for a few impressions it usually doesn't show PSA's anyway.

I don't see anything about relpacing lower paying ads with higher paying ones.

I used them for some time, but dropped - affiliate programs or CPM networks work better in my case.
