Cool in BKK, but they say its gonna flood one second and then its safe the second after that. This was the noodle section in Gourmet market at Paragon the last week.

Time for me to export noodles out of Malaysia

Problem is distribution is hosed. They're having trouble delivering to the stores due to the flooding so your exports wouldn't make it there. I live a couple hours away from Bangkok in an area that isn't flooded and even here the local Tesco was out of rice, and KitKats :(

i was in phuket this tuesday and they have absolutely no signs of flood. Guess its mostly affecting bankgkok and nearby thailand?

Didn't know about the floods but seems like shits going down.

But +1 for this picture,

Who said disasters like these can't be fun?

Yes, disasters are fun, till the water level remains below your knees.

But when water rises to critical levels and people have to be evacuated this picture changes radically.

P.S - Been a victim of floods.

I planned to go to thailand early next year. Should be alright by then? (I don't follow the news, had no idea about the floods...)

They estimate it will take 4 to 6 weeks for the flood water to drain off. After that it will be a smelly mess for a while. By next year should be fine.

Im hittin Bangkok on 3rd Nov then off to Phuket. I know phuket is ok but worried the main airport in Bangkok may get flooded, any of you thai residents know if thats likely?

The Thai govt absolutely swears against the airport flooding, but this is also the same govt who said they don't need to worry about global warming because Thailand is too far away from the ice caps, so who knows...

Probably won't get flooded, but anything's possible.

Which airport you coming into? If it's Don Mueang, well, the Thai Air Force already evacuated their planes from there so I guess they don't believe the government when it said Don Mueang would be protected.

Suvarnabhumi, thats the legit one right lol?

Suvarnabhumi is fine for the time being. Some domestic airlines (like Nok Air) fly out of Don Mueang which has water rising on one side at the moment and may actually flood in a few more days.

If you are making a connection on a domestic flight out of Don Mueang you are now officially screwed as they just closed that airport due to the runways being flooded.
