As one of the Wicked Fire guides i figured i should be contributing more. I have been busy but will devote the day to answering any questions you have about affiliate marketing. If you are looking for suggestions on how to promote an offer or general questions fire away.

Ask away all day, i do have something going on from 12:30 -3 but i will come back and answer everyone. Any post after 6 PM EST may not be answered today.

What are the top converting offers for Copeac right now? What' bringing in the most dough?

Dont ever go for whats bringing in the most dough. Everyone drives traffic differently and in different amounts. Good rule of thumb, run lead offers or sale offers from big brand names only. The sale offers from a non brand name rarely converts.

However you can guess whats good out there. Dating, financial, free stuff.

I believe dating is the number 3 category online behind Gambling and porn. Number 4 is financial.

Hope that helps.

Question about what I suppose has been named "white label" or "private label" offers:

Is it possible for an affiliate not raking in huge dollars to set up an on-site form or survey they can pass on to the offering company/network? Seems like this offers a huge advantage, much greater flexibility and tons of opportunity to better track data.

If so, what's the best method to go about this? Are there certain programs, networks or industries that are more willing to allow this? And for a programming newb, how would you approach this?

Long and multiple questions, sorry bout it, but greatly appreciate your willingness to help the folks here out... it goes a long way. And for the owner of a network to take the time? I think that question answers itself...

I need to learn to code. PHP/MySQL all that good stuff. I have been in Affiliate Marketing for a while and I am actually managing a fairly large affiliate program right now.

I know the business, I know the people, I know all the aspects of it, but I don't know how to code. What's the easiest way for me to learn? Books? Classes?

By the way, Danny Agurto is a bad ass Affiliate Manager. Just thought I would let you know.

I'm looking at running an incetive program on one of my sites.

I've looked into several different types of softwares like myeasyscripts com

My question is what is the best, most prefered software out there for incetive sites?

The site I plan on implementing it on isn't going to be a full blown incentive site but a side program to give back to my users without insane guidelines to recieve a free item.

How would you promote Blockbuster? With all the tv ads and branding it would seem easy but I've had no success.

From Jon's Affiliate stats its converting (1:46) http://www.wickedfire.com/affiliate-marketing-stats/march07/ but I don't know how people are doing it. PPC seems out since the bids are high and can't use trademarks. I'm guessing the people making money on blockbuster have review sites or throw the banners on their well known sites that get tons of traffic.

Great thread Mike,

My question: How do you track conversion rates for specific keywords?

I know there have been some threads, but I'm still lost. Any suggestions on testing, stats, etc.?

Thanks. -DrH

No advertiser is going ot let an affiliate host the offer due to not being able to verify if the data is valid. No matter how much volume there is it is very unlikely that anyone would allow an affiliate to host the offer.

I would search google for do it yourself training books or courses. I don't know how to code either, i hire people for that part.

Thanks for the compliment on danny i will let him and his manager know.

Sorry this is more of a technical question, i am not technical at all. Maybe another WF member can help you out.

That's cool. I'll keep looking into the different software options and just pick one.

Another question I've been curious about how many affiliates are in the $500 Amex Gift Card club?

I'm slowing working my way to the $50 Amex Gift Card club. I'm only $22,500 short this moth but closing the gap each month! :p

I would assume that either the affiliates running it are keeping their cost low by having good quality score or they are thinking out side of the box and promoting it with a unique set of keywords. Feel free to PM or IM me and ill help you to think outside the box.

Some people do it though using the Sub Id function within affiliate networks. This can be a labor some and manual process but it does help

If you're working with a network that runs the Direct Track software there is a bid management piece that is integrated in to your affiliate account called Direct Track Bid Management. It isn't used by many affiliates just because it isn't promoted much but if you want to try it let me know and we might be able to get you a free trial run of the software.

There are a good number in the $500 level but as is the case most of the time, most people get a smaller amount. Not many people hit those kind of volumes.
