I have two quick questions about Adwords functionality.

1. Let's say I do a broad match for: shop (not "shop" or [shop]). If someone searchers for shops, shopped, shopping, shopper, etc., will my Adwords campaign show up?

2. Let say I do a broad match for: cool shop (not "cool shop" or [cool shop]). If someone searchers for cool book shop, cool local shop, cool ____ shop, etc., will my Adwords campaign show up?

Thanks!

The answer is yes to both.

Be very careful with broad match, use a lot of negative keywords. When you speak to the "specialists" (LOL) on the phone, they encourage you to use broad match so you can get more traffic. They do not care, nor do they want to know what your roi is. Do not listen to them as they are trained by the mighty goog to empty your wallet and nothing else.

true dat. and just to add on to beejebers, you want to be careful with broad searching because it increases your impressions, which without a CT, just ends up lower your over all CTR which then, eventually increases your CPC.

I would think broad search in a a small niche field may be ok (just depends) but in a competive field like "shopping" or "diets" etc...I would agree that either do ALOT of negative keywords or stick to exact and phrase keywords.
