So I started a blog at blogspot.com, added the Adsense ads in the side an bottom. Then posted topic-specific content. How long before I see relevant google text ads instead of Katrina/PSA ads?

The DP adsense testing tool shows what I want to appear when I feed it that URL...

Somewhat depends on how much traffic you are getting too. More traffic=faster relevancy.

Well now it's been a day and a half. And I even snuck in a link from a relevant and crawled PR6 page on another site. Didn't expect for it to take this long...

Blogs can ofter be a problem for various reasons; just e-mail Adsense

Just keep refreshing the page. Some people use this trick to get indexed faster, but you can also give Adsense bot "a hint" that this page is popular, give me better targeted ads so you can make some more money.

If that doesn't help, try to change filename and directory name. Also the best, but the slowest way is to use Google's <---content-start---> tags. I can't remember the exact syntax, but Adsense help page will help you. This way you can choose exactly where bot should look when targeting ads.

The refresh thing has worked for me, he can't change the directory name because it's a blogspot.

How much content do you have? blogspot blogs have so much other shit in them that you have to outnumber that crap with your good stuff.

I got an answer from Google in about an hour. Here's what they said.
Hello,

Thanks for your email regarding your AdSense ad targeting. We've provided some information below which we hope will address your question. As you know, you can also find instant answers to some of our top questions in the AdSense Help Center at Google AdSense Help Center. If you still have unresolved questions after looking through this material, please reply to this email and we'll be happy to help you further.

- Can I select ads for my site?

Our system automatically determines ads for your pages based on their content, so it's not possible to manually select ads. If you'd like to display ads related to specific topics, we recommend including more complete sentences and paragraphs about those topics.

- Can I filter ads from my site?

Yes, you can filter out ads from specific URLs - instructions are available at https://www.google.com/adsense/urlfilter. However, it's currently not possible to filter ads by keyword or category. Please also note that there may be a delay of 48 hours before ads from filtered sites stop showing on your site.

- How will I know which ads will be displayed?

You can use the AdSense preview tool to view the ads which may appear on your pages. For more information about this tool, please visit Google AdSense Help Center .

- I just updated my page - why haven't the ads changed?

When you update a page, it may take up to 2 weeks for our crawler to revisit your site and take your changes into account. Until your page is recrawled, we may display less relevant or non-paying public service ads.

- Why does only one ad unit appear, even when I've pasted multiple ad units on my page?

When highly targeted ads aren't available for all of your ad units, you'll see that only the first ad unit contains ads. For more details, please visit Google AdSense Help Center: Why is only one ad unit displaying ads? .

In addition, you might find the links at Google AdSense Help Center useful. If you're unable to find your answer in our Help Center, please feel free to reply to this email.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

I'll look into their suggestions further. I'm thinking about the one that tells Google where to "start", "stop", and "ignore" content will be good.
