Adsense Help

Hey guys I am wondering I had a real estate website which had links to my affiliates. The problem is I wasnt getting or making any money from it and I lost like over $70 in PPC without a single lead. Now I have added adsense to it and I am wondering if I can still have my affiliates links all over it too. The affiliate links have anchor text or click here to get more information or click here to get a free real estate valuations etc etc. Is it safe to have it there or should I just remove it completely.

Next question what is a good ROI % for adsense. I currently have 103 impressions and only 1 click. cheers

I am at 196 impresssions and 13 clicks for one of my sites. I would like to hear more info on this topic as well. Any recommendations for someone starting out?

im pretty sure its better to have either one or the other (affliate offers or adsense) just so you can focus the site on one thing. But i'm sure both will work....just spreading yourself thin and hoping somethin sticks

If you are focussing on the affiliate offer then maybe have adsense at the bottom - to catch a few visitors who might leave, but not distract from your affiliate offers. Once they click an ad they aren't coming back!

This isn't a niche I'm involved in but although lucrative it is a highly competitive area - hard going for a newbie.

Ahh. you all beat me to my question. Whats a good combo for AdSense and Affiliates?

I am thinking I will focus on the Adsense since i am seeing a bigger return from those then the affliate links. They are just taking space up and not giving me any $$$. The site is generating a constast 1 - 2.00 a day for me now. So I am looking to expand on that. .

Should I take the affiliate links off my site - 2008 Election Debate - and stick to adsense? What do you all think?

This site will be expanded daily and new content will be added too. So maybe once i start getting more visitors a day i might be able to incorporate adsence better.

Variety

In my view and experience variety of ads works best and I would recommend that you keep a good balance between Adsense and traditional affiliation ads.

Additionally, try contextual ads (text) by finding advertisers that have something to offer within the context of your site and adding a short text link. These work wonders when in context and well positioned, and the advantage is obvious: they take very little space.

PS: If you are so incline you may want to test pop-under of pop-up. They also work when not blocked.
