Now that my site is up and earning, I am looking ofr a good way to manage all the data I get from adsense. I want to have a spreadsheet for each site which contains data on each ad unit. Is there a way to automatically update your spreadsheets with csv data? I was thinking of making a php file that I cron every week which sends me all of the weekly data in an email. I am sure there is a way to access the CSVs remotely as there is a widget and Firefox extention. I am also open to suggestions on how to manage the data once it is in spreadsheet form and some of the alternatives to making a personal system. Has anyone ever heard of a web based adsnese stats analyser. I know there is a program that does it but I use a Mac.

Considering that when I do I will be learning php at the same time. It still seems pretty easy mathematically. I had a look around and I couldn't find any method of retrieving the CSV's, it must be possible becuase there is a dashboard widget and a Firefox extention.

Very cool. Let us know how it goes.
I mailed google for an API, but there is none as of yet. :(

Ok thanks. I'll see how i can go about retrieving the CSVs and then importing them into a database.

The basics that I think it should include are:
•Graphs
•Custom channel comparisons

Ok I'm sure there are a lot of stuff it will need to do. Any suggestions?

I just want to know how to get the CSVs automatically. :D

Pouring those into graphs would be nice, but should be the easy part.
You might want to think about displaying a gliding average to smooth the curve a bit.

At it... the next days, sometime.
:p

You got a reply to your mail?

Sorry, sure. Just updated my info.

Try away, but my main computer is not online right now, using my girl's laptop still. So you might not get me right away.

Giles and Joe,

I don't want to be a whiner, but is it absolutely necessary to have sigs that take up 300 pixels (230px image plus links and padding)?
Get Firefox and AdBlock if it's an issue for you.:sadcrying4:

I have firefox and adblock, but 1) it doesn't give me an adblock tab there and 2) and I don't have a problem with the image sigs per se, just that those really tall animated ones that give me a headache when I read the thread. Anyway, should probably have mentioned it in a PM since my goal was not to derail the thread.

So back on track, a few resources that might help

http://code.google.com/apis/adsense/

The really relevant page is
Generate Report page

The format of this data is in the output format specified by the report passed in, currently only CSV_Excel

Of course, this is currently in beta, but realistically, how long can google keep a product in beta? (yes, that's a joke).

errr....

If you own a site in which you register users who manage web content, and your site has more than 100,000 daily pageviews, you may qualify for participation in the AdSense API (BETA). If you'd like to participate, simply fill out the application below.

I guess not.
