Finally got my most expensive Amazon purchase ever in the mail this morning: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Creative-Suite-Master-Collection/dp/B001EUB70M/ref=pd_cp_sw_1"]THIS[/ame]. $2,400 I could have saved if I would have torrented, but I'm going legit. So now I have:

  • Adobe InDesign CS4
  • Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended
  • Adobe Illustrator CS4
  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro
  • Adobe Flash CS4 Professional
  • Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
  • Adobe Fireworks CS4
  • Adobe Contribute CS4
  • Adobe After Effects CS4
  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
  • Adobe Soundbooth CS4
  • Adobe OnLocation CS4
  • Adobe Encore CS4
I can do photoshop (nothing like ncmedia or anything), and I worked with InDesign back in high school with the yearbook. PDF creation doesn't sem like anything horrible. But what exactly should I do with this stuff? Besides give it to you.

Why not just buy what you'd use, such as just the design package?

I hate acrobat 9... mainly because for some reason its way too damn slow and memory intensive, even compared to using photoshop CS4 heavily.

But what exactly should I do with this stuff? Besides give it to you.

Kinda blows the whole 'going legit' thing out of the water doesn't it? (Besides I think if anyone wanted that, they'd just torrent it, or buy their own copy than go thru the hassle of trying to figure out how to crack your copy).

But it goes back to the original question... why not just buy what you needed probably could have saved 75% off what you paid. Otherwise seems kinda like a silly move just for a geeky status symbol.

At a grand off or so, you still get.

InDesign CS4
Photoshop CS4 Extended
Illustrator CS4
Flash CS4 Professional
Dreamweaver CS4
Fireworks CS4
Acrobat 9 Pro
Adobe Bridge CS4
Adobe Device Central CS4
Version Cue CS4

Man I hate to bust your bubble but you can get it from campustech.com for $989. All you need is to find someone to use as a student or faculty.

I remember a ex coworker of mine did that on a website with a similar name (if not the same), except he got the design suite for a couple hundred... but it arrived as a burned memeorex DVD+DL disk, with instructions to call some guy for an activation code (my guess is would be running the keygen from that location).

Well you should have thought about that before buying all that shit. I guess 2k+ down the drain.

I know there are some subtle differences, but aren't Photoshop, Imageready and Fireworks basically the same?

They don't make Imageready anymore. The functionality was rolled into Photoshop in CS3. Fireworks is for web graphics only, and quite a few people I know prefer to work with it instead of Photoshop when making websites. Just a matter of preference really. Photoshop on the other hand can do a heck of a lot more than Fireworks is capable of.

I laughed at the OP when I read this yesterday. WTF? What should you do with the $2K in software you just bought? Better start taking some classes and/or doing some tutorials online.

I don't see you using half of it as I have a licensed copy of the CS3 Master Uber Deluxe package and I can't recall having ever even opened Premier or After effects. However, given that the Design Premium package is only about $400 less, that's not a lot more to get all the video and sound editing potential in that package if you ever do use it.

I personally have purchased CS4 as well, but it was because I'm actually planning on using it, and already do. After Effects is absolutely unnecessary unless you plan on greenscreening high-quality movies. It's the stuff that professionals use. The only things that you will ever use with everyday tinkering and graphic/web design are Photoshop, DreamWeaver, and maybe flash.

Lightroom is also useful at times.

Hemingway: InDesign is great for WYISWYG design and layout of pages that have a lot of text elements for print.
Mostly magazine and book layout, but you can export to XML and upload it to a site if you want to work that way.
Dreamweaver 4 will allow you to edit sites in situ, if you give it FTP access.
Fireworks and Contribute... you wasted money there. Premiere is good if you're going to edit footage.
After Effects will make it look like you didn't shoot it on your crappy handycam or phone. Soundbooth will get rid of the noise of the wind, static, solid consonants, and other annoying background sounds if you can figure out how to use it.

kblessingr: Student packages can't actually be used for commercial purposes or profit motive... technically.

I actually using fireworks a lot more then PS, Aftereffects are not only good for footage editing, but for creating cool custom site demos and presentations.
I did not use Soundbooth yet, but if you need to edit music find Cooleditpro 2, Adobe bought and made Audition out of it.

I bought copy of CS4 design premium from VioSoftware: Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium 65021566.

I was skeptical and called them, they answered the phone and said that they are in this business for 10 years and are legal and if they would not they make such a huge footprint that I don't know how they are open yet.

I received software sealed and in what seems to be original manufactures packaging. Still, I don't get how they can sell so cheap...
I was not able to find any bad , shady info about them on google

I'm not affiliated in any way
