:angryfire:I'm not really active on this forum or do exactly affiliate marketing (though I promote adult affiliate programs via my own sites). I met a few of you guys at adtech nyc this past year. I know someone here uses BLA or adbrite and just in case this guy who use to be my partner pops up here you can watch out for him. Thanks.

Cliffsnotes for people who arent going to read this all:
1. Partner sent a site 84 cents worth of fraudulent impressions (14k page views)
2. Adbrite terminated my account and made me forfeit $6k in earnings (along with future earnings obviously) even though I had no knowledge of what was happening and had been earning consistently with them for over 4 years
3. Yet another large adult company refuses to payout over something minor
4. Information on my fucking idiot of a partner

First off, I want to come out and say that a partner on a site I was working with since december was banned from adbrite due to supposed click fraud. I had nothing to do with his sites except for 1 I ran together with him. I had no way to know about this, I managed the monetization and he setup traffic trades and buys. At some point he decided it was an excellent idea to buy traffic to 300x250s (i guess according to adbrite he had been doing this on this other sites) with an iframe to our site. None of this I knew about and there were no significant traffic spikes or anything (I went back and looked at the supposed days this happened).

But fast forward to yesterday. I get a call from a Charles Spencer at Black Label Ads who is part of their fraud team or whatever. He asks me to clarify 2 things, the first is something minor that wasnt an issue. The second part is what I began to talk about earlier. He tells me this (first time I know of the site having anything to do with it) so I check it out and yes, it appears he is doing something shady along these lines. He calls my partner who refuses to say anything, calls me back and says my accounts and earnings are terminated and forfeited. I ran my own zones on the site which received 14k fraudulent page views from the banner in question. This at 3 zones a page at a very generous 7 cents cpm comes out to 84 cents worth of fraudulent earnings.

Sooooooo. I attempt to appeal it through my always helpful BLA rep Maggie. She talks with Charlie some and I dont hear anything back in the evening. I wake up today, zones are all dead, but no word on the appeal but not looking good. So I call up Charlie, he says nothing he can do, even though I've been a constant earner for 4 years and this site in question only takes up a very small portion of my earnings (and the fraud accounted for a max of 84 cents that went on without my knowledge).

Now while this was a violation of their TOS, it seems somewhat suspicious that yet another large adult company does want to pay out earnings to me. How long does it take for them to earn $6k off someone that makes $3k a month? well at 10-15% of their cut thats only $300 a month, so thats 20 months! They were even 2 weeks late paying out 2 months ago, seems to be a typical indicator when a sponsor is having problems with money.

Interesting... first no luck with adult-profit paying, now rehab and sobv aren't paying... well damn, maybe adbrite thought it was a good idea to can me and take the money and run. Who knows if adult will even exist in 20 months.

But enough about me. My partner is Adam Johnson who also goes as ajonline, he lives somewhere in minnesota, doesn't run much adult any more but has a good deal of arcade sites it seems. He continues to do this shady bottom of the page 300x250 ad buying with encoded javascript ripping off companies like pornhub and extreme tube (such as here: http://www.fuxoo.com/ads/tehvids/tehvids1.html)

Thoughts?

Wow dude,

Some balls you got there for outing your friend/partner like that, and thinking WF is going to make adbrite come justify why 'only a few' fraud instances from a repeat offender is enough to boot you/friend/partner.

I would be on the horn, I would be thorough, I would apologize profusely but I would never use the 'it was only a few' line, and I would think twice to partner with someone that can sink my whole boat in a few greedy clicks.

Good luck none the less.

I'm not expecting anything from WF or anything to change (well except him probably changing the passwords on the site lol).
Fraud is a crime, there has to be intent for it to be criminal. I was unaware of the situation, so there was no intent. Sure it violated their TOS, but once again, out of my control and still very insignificant.

Once again, I know there was a TOS violation, so forfeiting earnings and getting your account terminated is what happens. I was unaware of the violation and I profited 84 cents approximately off the traffic (well, not counting server bill and I only get a 40% cut of the site). But after sending 80 million impressions monthly for a long time and being a constant publisher for 4 years AND considering lots of big adult companies are just closing up shop and not paying it, it just seems too much of a coincidence to not payout. Just take my earned money and not worry about trying to make it from me the usual way via promotion
