AdBlock wants to charge advertisers to let their ads through



Well that fucking sucks. I don't mind some banners here or there, but video ads before videos are unbearable.
 
If you are a big advertiser, why on earth would you give them even a penny.

They will use the money to get more users to block more of your ads.
 
He's asking for legal trouble imo.
 
The only ads I actually want to block are youtube ones, the pre-rolls and banner overlays. The rest I'm not bothered about, apart from the odd flash object that goes bananas on the cpu.

Adblock Plus, which this article is about, is apparently the evil twin.

Adblock is the good one.
 
Its funny Google is killing advertising by pissing people off with video ads. Normally they would not care but a 30 second ad that you have seen 100 times before every video is driving people to search "block ads". So they end up installing adblock.
