Accepting Credit Cards as Payment?

I'm building a site for a jewelry company right now, and they want the option to accept credit cards as a form of online payment. Since I've never had to deal with CCs before, I was wondering if anybody could steer me in the right direction?

try paypal out definitely to start. Going with rinky dink CC processors can screw you if you hit mid and non qual rates and you never seem to hit their introductory 2.1X% qualified rate. Paypal just launched their new payflow system, which I am trying out on a site now, rates start off a bit higher, but you don't get stuck in non-qual hell at almost 5%
