Hello everyone, I have been reading a lot about affiliate marketing lately, mostly from [we don't allow ebooks] with Michael [Soup]. Now I have found this forum and may I add I think I have found a new home, so much information here. Anyways before I go into getting Google Adwords, starting up a 1 page mini-site promoting a product and running a risk of losing money I decided I will try my luck out at Wordpress.

Now I have an idea to promote a product to learning a new language. I used wordtracker and found that on MSN "advantages to learning a second language" has a KEI of 961 and 29 in competition. So if I make my blog around a product that teaches one to learn Spanish with keywords of that one I found on wordtracker will that end up meaning I have a potential of being able to easily dominate that affiliate program?

Also, I was wondering if I make this blog, could I then join several different affilliate programs learning different languages (spanish, italian, german etc.) and promote the different programs in my blog?

I'm just trying to get things straight, still confused as to the whole keyword thing and not sure if what I explained with the wordtracker part is the correct method to finding a niche like that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You're probably looking for "Rosetta Stone" as your aff product. Has a lot of different languages.
I'd break the blog entries up into "Advantages to learning (insert language here), to keep the traffic more targetted and directed. Just find facts about the language that make it worthwhile, use those in the entry, heavily plug Rosetta Stone.

First of all wordtracker is piss. Let me tell you exactly what's going to happen if you go the route you're thinking about...

You're going to work your ass off trying to link for "advantages to learning a second language". A few months later you'll be at the top spot in every search engine for that phrase and find out that you have absolute dick for traffic.

You're going to become insanely bitter as each day passes. You'll start smoking like a chimney, then get addicted to meth. Perhaps you'll eventually snap and murder everyone you love.

Instead...

Sign up for a google adwords account so you can use the GOOGLE KEYWORD TOOL, find a decent keyword phrase that gets traffic, and try to rank for variations of that keyword phrase. Put up an offer. Profit.

Well gosh I feel the love already :thumbsup: I was reading some other threads around here saying that people just starting out shouldnt use adwords at first instead use wordpress for blogging. Anyways I found the adwords keyword tool without having to sign up so I will use that.

So I get my niche and good keywords, set up a blog with wordpress, center my blogs and titles around the keywords and thats about it?

I am thinking that I should choose affiliates that give commision per referall instead of sale to start out is this a good idea?

Thanks for telling me about wordtracker and keeping me from smoking meth though :p
 
Just find a good free trial offer related to health/weight loss and you'll be all set.

What are the SEO methods that you are going to use?
