A Way to Check For Site Updates with No RSS?

So for my main project currently I need a quick way of looking at multiple websites for any updates so I can be kept in the loop.

The problem is some sites do not have RSS feeds. Or they have super busy RSS feeds, like 200 updates a week when only 10 of those updates are relative to the niche I want to keep myself informed in.

Is there a scrapper, bot out there that can go to specific sites, see if there is an update an inform me?

Is this something that UBot can do or something equivalent? I really do not want to code something like that it would take to much time for such a thing.

My initial google searches turned out empty, but after I made this post I went a different route.

So if anyone ever finds this post and wonder for the answers.

There is Scrapy and Heretix to create a web bot.

However, there is a much simpler way.

Google Reader allows for custom URLs, so you can just tag the URL you want to monitor and it will update like any other website feed.

There is also WatchThatPage, Page2RSS, and ChangeDetection

There is a firefox addon called Update Scanner as well.
