I ran across this link in my travels and thought of the n00bs here.


I just glanced through this and it seems to pretty much bring the reader up to speed on what the landscape of Internet Marketing has become NOW compared to back when most of all the stuff was written that you will find out there as a n00b.

Like I said in the OP, it's a good read for a n00b to get the feel of the arena now.


I won't confuse things by making any real comment here. But, with experience there are still ways to keep old dogs hunting on the web just fine.


Learn to build lists & keep them active, and none of the Search Engines will be able to control your income. (At least not to a degree that'll really matter to you.)

I use a metaphor to describe a SILO site: for me, they look like a Christmas tree, with the most valuable keyword on the very top, sustained by branches with various sub-niches and long-tail keywords.
 
Thanks for the taking the time to share the link! It's been quite a read but well worth my time - thorough and very useful, especially for a newbie.
