So, noob here. I've got 5 domains, each domain have the keyword for the actual key im trying to primarily rank for. Now that im in # 1 positions, if I want to rank for other keys:

1. Should I continue to buy domain names similar to the keys im tryin to rank in?

or

2. Should I make subpages example.com/example.htm ???

Obviously if I do # 2 ill save on hosting costs. But i dont know if google looks for the main file (index.htm) and consders subpages lower quality?

Do both and figure out which one works best for you. If they are related, I would lean towards #2 though. Don't underestimate the domain authority you are building up with the existing domains.

What ^ said. If the terms are closely related, it will just raise the gauge on the site's authority. But on the same token, it can't hurt to make another domain as well. I mean, they're cheap enough anyway.

In the long run large sites are better off than lots of small ones, though you wont get the initial boost an exact match domain name produces.

Ultimately, if you are targeting similar terms add them as additional pages.
And as CPW-Carl mentions, run your own tests. Domains are not really very expensive, and for low traffic sites you can run loads from one hosting account.

#2. You're better off spending your time/energy building a larger more content digestable site than a bunch of thin sites that google won't take seriously even if the kw is in the url. Good luck! :)
