The way maths is taught is really, really shitty.
I remember throughout highschool thinking "wtf is the point of this stupid subject?".
If they'd given examples of how things like quadratic equations and integration were very useful, instead of just teaching them in isolation, I'd have paid a lot more attention.

Wow arnt you a little defensive. He was talking about the writer of the article. Or maybe your not to good at math and thought 40%= a majority as well. That or maybe its reading and comprehension that you struggle with

Wicked Ice, I wasn't referring to "you" as the "writer", I was referring to the person who wrote the newspaper article. At no point in my statement did I make a reference to people being "fucked", let alone the "majority" being "fucked. I was just pointing out the irony of the "writer" also being bad at math.

They should have integrated physics when teaching math, it's actual real-world application and it's interesting as fuck (instead of Mary has two apples, she decides to use the quadratic equation to split them evenly with Jim). I would have been way more engaged had I known they use this stuff to solve the mysteries of the universe instead of dividing fruit.
People say they hate math because they are told math is hard, useless, stupid and plenty of other things to shape their view and understanding of it. A large number of people do not communicate properly, but they don't go around saying they hate English. They make excuses or deny the fact.
