Morals and Ethics?

How do you guys cope with morals and ethics? I mean Jon had a porn network making him a buttload of cash, that would be sweet but you could only take so much porn till you have seen everything and it becomes sickening.

Do you guys just think of the internet as non-existent which is why you do anything and everything to get money?

So you would go in the business of selling crack and importing illegal goods, just because there is money to be made in it? That is one unhealthy obsession with money :p
 
Why not exploit the web for all it has to offer? Let's remember the people calling things immoral and unethical are just as immoral and unethical if not more so. Go with your intuition and do what feels right for you.

I guess that places me higher on the food chain than him. Isn't that how the world works? The stronger feed off the weak, and the weak get weaker.

I fail to see the reasoning when people try to juxtapose morals and SEO.

I understand that your just trying to stur a discussion so I'm not trashing you, but if you're refering to the immorals of blackhats then i would really like someone to explain to me how people got away with saying its immoral. I see it very simply, no gray. It's MY website. I paid for it. I can put on it what I want. If Google intrudes on my site and uses the bandwidth I pay for than thats fine. If they refer a user to my site through a link than thats their problem and the problem of the user. Until they're paying our hosting and bandwidth bills than they have no right to say we're ruining the web. In the end it boils down to the fact that Google, Yahoo, and MSN are NOT the net. They are simply portals. We're the net. It's our right to do with it what we want.

That was an awesome way to put it Deliguy. Granted porn doesn't hurt anyone, but what about spam I mean spam hurts people you could get salmonella if it gets rotten :)
 
No not at all, those sites are not that bad. I mean if you are just indexing the links and don't host them then it is all good. But I suppose I am less about morals and more abot illegality. I mean I would hate to get caught being a spammer and go to prison :)

I don't know much about the law so that wouldn't take much for me to do something illegal :p
 
Oh, the only spam i'm doing right now is making loads of sites through automated programs.

Email spam is risky and hard to get into. The softwares you need to be able to go into high volume cost loads of $$$
 
Morals and ethics are the religious crap you get shoved down your throat by self-righteous pricks.

99% of the jackasses that use these terms to condemn others have no fucking clue what is right and what is wrong.

If it doesn't hurt others then you are doing fine. Making money by filling needs adds value to quality of life. Preaching at others and lobbying gov't to enforce religious morality hurts the quality of life (See: Taliban).

People should have the right to choose their entertainment, whether it's porn or drugs. If you don't like the way others run their life, then follow the golden rule:

Mind your own business.
 
I aint into porn or spam. I disagree with untargeted mass email spam (becuase its a pain in the ass for most people). I think porns ok (don't have any sites) as long as it dosent hurt anyone. I also disagree with spyware and shit like that.
 
Don't get caught then you don't have to worry what other's think are moral, ethical or illegal :338:

Email spam is annoying but not a pain in the ass...it isn't like i wake up in the morning and go "oh no i've got to go through my email spam now".

spyware is a bit lame...puting a virus on a computer well thats definitely wrong :crying:
 
I don't agree with spyware, thats actually tampering with someones computer witout their consent but I don't have a problem with spam. Whats the difference between email spam and flyers the mailman delivers to your house everyday?
