JC is not going to become a news story. I know you are trying to help, but insulting him by bracketing him with that killer is not the way to do it. He's not a psycho, he's just shy, don't heap stuff on him that he doesn't deserve. Most people with problems do not go psycho and suggesting otherwise hurts them rather than helps.
On topic, according to the NYT, the killer's parents contacted the police a month ago because of his strange Youtube videos. But no one thought, let's not allow him to have a gun. That is what has caused the tragedy. Not that different to the man who opened fire on that school whose mother thought shooting practice would give him confidence...!!
