How to monetize a philosophical blog?

It was originally launched as a hobby. Now it gets good traffic. Any idea what affiliate offers would fit in? I'd like to monetize it finally. It goes about life, relationships, religion, society, etc. Nothing worth seems to be relevant to the content as I scanned through popular affiliate networks.

Thanks.

i had such blog and all i did was adsense. worked fine.

Same. Had you said "retarded new agey site" or "conspiracy site" there's probably plenty of offers. With what you mentioned, I'd go Adsense.

Mine was philosophy, spirituality, religion, mythology, metaphysics, etc. You aren't going to convince lofty people to buy silly products, but they'll click an ad here and there.

Another option would be to recommend books and reap the low ball Amazon monies.

Were people actually able to read it?

I see a lot of people with popular blogs promoting books that contain all or a "best of" their posts.

If I were you, I would scrape up all my posts and publish them on the kindle. Invest a few bucks in a decent graphic designer to make you an eye catching cover and you should be good to go.

You can even promote your own book as an amazon associate.

Contact Church of Scientology I hear their affiliate program pays nicely. Just don't become a suppressive or your AM will cut you off.

Long time ago, that Lockergnome guy did GnomeTomes...

... basically impulse-buy ebooks, but with a incredibly high signal-to-noise ratio.

You could put a zero-fucks sales pitch on each page/post: "I wrote a list of twelve moderately humorous infonibblets about 12 infamous philsophers. I even included mnemonics to help you remember them at your next beer party. You can have it for $3 dollars and the 80 seconds it takes to deliver them via Paypal." (or whatever)

EDIT: The Teaching Company affiliate program (Great Courses is pretty bitchin too)

Amazon books...or search on Clickbank and see if any books have similar results.

I would be more expansive. Try travel offers and pilgrimage tours. Travel to the home countries of the great philosophers. Travel to India to stay in an ashram. Travel to Nepal and stay at a Buddhist monastary.

You can try offers for yoga clothing and accessories. Meditation offers. Herbal teas and even those silly little fountains with water that gurgles over rocks.

Maybe the Dalai Lama has an affiliate program. :)

What about religious dating offers like Christian mingle? Just a thought. Depending on the size of your traffic you have a few options. I'd suggest trying out a few and seeing what works.

Good luck!
