Silk Road and Bitcoins - Buy drugs online?

lol @ bitcoin and Silk Road. That shit is like the Wal-Mart of the underground Internet. You won't be hearing about the real underground on Gawker anytime soon.

Has anyone seen a real store that accepts bitcoins? What if I wanted to accept them in say a Magento store or something. Has the system developed enough for normal uses other than tor drug sites.

No not really. There are places, but at this point it's still too complicated for the average person to do anything. No one wants to send money to zleayw1239ORRYSk or have to setup another wallet somewhere else. The prices are too unstable at this point to sell something. When lead gen offers start coming up for free bitcoins, and I can buy porn with bitcoins, then I might start thinking differently.

shit mane i missed the bus.. silk road went into current members only mode

i guessed my way into someones acct though LOL

And now the Silk Road forums are all lit up due to all the guys "guessing" their way into accts. And "borrowing" the money in the accts.

Hey what a shock..Chuck Schumer, aka the worst senator ever (and self-proclaimed "consumer activist") wants to crack down on bitcoin. Fuck him and fuck government.

All that aside, it's about to crash, just as predicted, so anyone in now would be wise to GTFO. You saw the exponential trend in the chart, so it's time to leave.

Also the price of goods on bitcoin based exchanges hasn't changed. Enjoy paying like $1000 an oz for weed based on current exchanges.

By far the silliest thing I've read you say so far.

Why? It's a currency bubble 100%. The prices on there are obscene still - 100BTC for crystal meth - so currently around $3000, whereas when the price was set, it was equivalent to around $100-200. This makes sense.

The majority of legit, regular sellers price their goods in $'s and the Bitcoin rate on their product listing is auto adjusted to the current exchange rate, so no not really.

Listings you see like that, are back from the old silk road, when the price was just a set bitcoin value, now it's tied to the dollar value. Have a look at the weed section for a better example of prices.

Btw, silk road actually got a thread on here a couple of months ago, back when it was $0.50 to the bitcoin. Funny how only now people on here have started joining. I'm in the first 700 to join :D

I seriously doubt anyone expects you to pay $3000 for meth. The price is supposed to fluctuate with the market, so if the guy wants $50 for a gram of meth and a bc is worth $10, it should read 5 bc and as the bc value increases or decreases, it's supposed to be reflected in the bc cost. They also have to option to set it up in US dollars, but most of them don't for some reason. I think a lot of the dumb asses on there don't know how to set it up correctly.

you have no idea what you are talking about.

the prices on the site fluxate with the exchange rate or they are set to fixed prices by the seller.

Yep, also silk road isnt the only place to exchange bitcoins for drugs, it just happens to be the place you read on gawker about :smokin:

Nope, it's not cause they're stupid, just because they were on Silk road before gawker got hold of it, back before the price auto-adjusted.

It also happens to be the cheapest place ;)

;)

also 99% of all bitcoins are in someones belonging (in wallets), so only way for price to actually crash would be if EVERYONE just magically forgot about them

but the demand is going to increase, and so will the value
