When I start typing in the URL box, chrome only "auto-finds" URLs from my history that *begin* with what I'm typing, versus finding matches ANYWHERE in the URL. Firefox searches the entire URL for any match, which is the correct way to do this.

wtf

..but on the other hand, chrome has a cool auto-select feature as you type commonly visited URL's and you can hit ENTER without having to hit the down arrow or move your mouse first to select the entry, like you have to with Firefox..

Firefox also has this handy feature that causes it to freeze every few seconds after a few hours of use, requiring a restart.

This isn't true. I just started typing in "shoo" and it brought up STS

FF is the gayest browser ever. I have 7GB of RAM and 3.2ghz processor and it STILL lags (and eventually crashes) when I open like 20+ tabs. It's like they don't give a shit that people have been complaining about this memory leak for years! Chrome runs like a breeze and I see absolutely no difference whether I'm running 3 tabs or 35 tabs! I just wish developers started launching more cool extensions on Chrome because unfortunately that's the only thing that makes me switch back to FF every once in a while.

My favorite is when people says that it is not FF but the extensions. Like many the extensions are the only reason I stick with FF. My last addon was a quick restart button in my status bar. It turns red when it blows past 750mb. Which is about 3 times a day whether I have 10 tabs or 1 tab it just keeps climbing. Crazy you would even need an extension like that. FF4 for me leaks much worse than 3.6.xx. About every 3 months I give chrome or iron or whatever another shot but keep coming back to FF.

that's why i stick with lynx. no memory leakage and the extensions are sweet.

I've heard a lot of people talk about Firefox being a memory hog, but I guess I'm just a really lucky guy or something because it rarely ever uses more than 150MB for me and I regularly have 20-30 tabs open. Kind of makes me feel guilty in a way lol

Opera is the true innovator... they had the speed dial feature first (the thumbnails of your favourites), they had 'paste and go' first, they had gestures first. Nevertheless I use Chrome for the most part.

I got so sick of this horse shit with Firefox that I ended up switching to Opera. A great and under rated browser.

This is such a crock of shit, and it's so typical for a bunch of obese open source developers to try to pass the buck. Firefox will hog all your memory and lag all by itself without any extensions. Firefox does this shit on both my desktop PC and my macbook.

I used to like Opera, but always got sick of it never displaying anything correctly. I've had that stigma for the last decade or so, which has stopped me from using it since.

I love FF, but anytime I need to do anything with Flash, like play games or watch some porn, I run it in Crome.

FF's plugin-container is horrible. Consumes all CPU!

CHROME>FF

Then again, Chrome is prob telling google every single letter you ever typed and forever connecting it to you. Pick your poison!

Both hands up for FireFox, because i love all those plugins, and also because i can run multiple profiles of Firefox that each uses different plugins and proxies at the same time.
