NEW Facebook Ads

New to Affiliate Marketing but not to IM. I'm just testing out some FB ads as they seem to be a little easier to get the hang of than AdWords.

Grabbed an affiliate link on ClickBank, got my ad approved this morning, but results are looking pretty terrible lol. I find the sales page pretty complete so I'm direct linking to it. I'm not doing a sandwich page or anything...

Ad 1
35,820 reach (too low?)
just over 2k impressions, 0 clicks (time to scrap?)
suggested bid $1.01 - $1.61
CPC set at $0.50

What do you guys think? Any opinions/advice would be much appreciated.

I'm waiting on 5 ad variations (different pictures) to be approved with a much larger demographic (more like 177k)

Trying to get some chicks in the pictures... Thoughts?

ur gonna need a sandwich page bro

you got me craving a delicious sandwich page right now..

Increasing the size of your demo isn't going to help. In fact it might just dilute the relevancy of your ads even further. If your a newbie give yourself the advantage of targeting very tightly with interests that are very relevant and related to people who will BUY your product. No such thing as a demo too small. (imagine if only 1% of your demo bought? thats 350 sales.)

Focus on testing your ad images and copy until you get a good CTR

Thanks

Got me hungry as well.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind and focus on optimising for CTR.

yep been happening to me too. the same exact ads are getting disapproved even when i resubmit but they don't even review all my ads in the same campaign just the same ones over and over. oh well

Ok, here is the deal for me in this case. This exact same issue has been happening for me over and over and over again. Mind you this is not for dating, it is a similarish niche in an international market.

Scenario: I live in the US. My Facebook intern reviewer team also lives in the US with a US IP. They go to view my ad and compare the ad text with the offer and see that my ad text does not match the landing page. Why? Because my network redirects all IPs to a different offer if outisde of the country the offer is targeting.

How do I know this? Well I changed the tracking link to one from the appropriate country of origin, with an offer that will match the adtext and VIOLA!!! Ad approved.

Facebook is getting more and more conservative with their approvals. One might get something risque approved, and it might perform well for a period of time, but as we have seen from countless testimonials above (mGrunin for one huge example) your ad will get disapproved, and if repeated over and over, your accoun will get banned.

Whats the solution? Its already been stated. Have multiple accounts, multiple IP addresses set up from where you are running, with multiple ads performing in the black. Either you take this stuff seriously or you don't. But FB is not playing. Honestly, I feel (this is my opinion) that they hate affiliate marketers. From what I see on my primary IRL account. The ads that are given to me, and the ADS THAT I ACTUALLY WANT TO SEE AND I DONT VIEW AS A SCAM, are the ads that are locally targeted to me. E.G. Restaurants, gyms, fairs, concerts, etc. So this is the direction that I see Facebook going, that is why they are disapproving these whorish looking females in these dating ads, and off the wall ad texts that look like a scam. End Rant.

whorish looking females in these dating ads,

LULZ... the sandwich gave me a good laugh as well, thanks for that.

I'm pretty sure every one of the girls in my dating ads can be classified as whorish looking, its good fun, you just have to cut out the blatantly whorish parts of the pic. If FB only knew what the original pic looked like of some of the stuff they are approving. Although it would be awesome if I snuck some underboob through, 1% CTR would be cake.

After running dating for a while I'm convinced today's youth are all a bunch of mirror picture taking whorish females. They're everywhere. I'm not that old but the internet has changed the culture drastically in the past 10 years. If you're young and in a position to, please take advantage of that. And be sure to post the boobs here afterwards.

Ya man, therre's a geo-redirect script somewhere in this thread, maybe this page, no chance you'll get anything approved without taking that into account.

New account and it seems like I can only target based on broad interests rather than specific keywords. Anyone know what it takes for specific keywords to be enabled?

Just had the same thing happen to me with a new account. So I emailed them and this is the Bullshit response I got:

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your email. Broad Category targeting is intended to help advertisers more easily and accurately reach their desired audience using categories rather than individual targeting criteria. This option is currently being tested among a limited set of advertisers. Unfortunately, it's not possible to opt out of this test.

If you have any other questions related to Facebook Ads, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks,

Wait so their new feature is that their targeting system now sucks? And they're trying to explain it as a new system being tested on just some set of advertisers? We're not fucking retarded.

so...dating niche. how many ads (1 campaign) you submit before getting it approved...

and in batches of.....

You've got to be fucking kidding me.

It better just be an 'option' alongside keywords, not a replacement.

Facebook locked my account for suspicious payment activity and then sent an email saying its been banned, but its not showing that on my account. What do I do? lol
