NEW Facebook Ads

Edit: McGrunin beat me to it...

New interface in case you can't do basic math in your head to figure out how much of your daily budget is left.

They moved the ad preview below all the fields. Not that big of a deal, unless you enjoy automation. Otherwise there's a little bit of work to do to get things working again.

Been a while since they fucked with things. If they could get their geotargeting to work accurately, that'd be nice.

umm, I've been using that interface for 5 days now. Maybe cuzz My account was dormant for 2 years and I just restarted using a week ago.

@mGrunin: I'm getting 0.25% CTR now on 3 new ads, the offer was bad though, gotta switch to a better offer.

pause your flirt + benaughty (app installs) if u dont want your account disabled

this! confirmed. My flirt app ad got disapproved within mins and i moved on, rather than creating more ads. Just delete the fucking campaign if u want ur account to stay.

by the way anyone else noticed that FB new ads interface changed a bit. They moved the preview ad section below the first block.

edit: sorry it seems someone was lot quicker than me to check out the new interface :D

Anybody having issues getting dating landers approved? I get my direct linking stuff approved but if I throw in my proven lander it gets denied. It is tame tame, but kind of ugly, but converts like nothing else.

Are they only accepting "pretty" stuff?

got my ugly dating lander approved yesterday, us demo

BUT
1 of the creatives got fucked somehow, when I tried to review the url fb presented me with something in the lines of "the url was reported as unsafe by facebook users"
the url was brand new, 0 impressions. Probably a system bug

You sure you didn't register a domain that was previously held by another affiliate that got it blocked on FB and then dropped it?

Mentioning either the lander's url name or the offer's name in the ad text?

This happened to me too actually. Turns out I was putting the wrong dating site name in the copy like a dumb ass. If the name of the dating site is "Cool Dating Site" it needs to be the exact same way in the copy--same # of spaces and same text formatting, just throwing that out there.

Worry less about cheap clicks and more about epc.

Sometimes that ad with the cpc of .80 will give you an epc of $2

Keep a lookout for those. Don't automatically mass delete the ads on a new campaign test just because you see the low CTR. I know it's hard to not do that as a knee jerk reaction, we all have a tendency to do that, but make sure you go through your stats and check each ad against epc.

For a lot of people this would probably turn them from being in the red to in the black literally overnight.

This.

One other thing to add is to make sure to test your offers and ads extensively. I have an offer that only converts 8 hours of the day, but when it does, I get my 75% ROI. During the remaining 16 hours I'm going about -30%, so if you were to first start this offer during the "bad" hours, it would be negative. If you decide to be foolish or lazy, you wouldn't allow the offer or ad to run through at least 24 hours and see that there are windows where it's cashing.

Offers affect your EPC. (Includes split-testing different offers in that niche, against different networks)
Ages affect your EPC. (Big regarding dating. You shouldn't have the same female picture for a 18-21 demo as you would for a 30-35 demo)
Time affects your EPC.
Ad text affects your EPC.
Images affect your EPC.
Keyword Targeting affects your EPC.
Gender affects your EPC. (Back to dating, some dating offers are negative on one gender, positive on the other though.

If you're breaking even or slightly negative on a campaign, look at that above list on what you should be split-testing.

No Impressions

I just ran a CPC campaign for 12 hours on a demo of 800,000 and all i got was less than 20,000 impressions. Campaign's daily spend is $100. What's up with that?

My ad previously held 0.1% CTR and a CPC of $.37 so I lowered my bid to $.40 from $.60.

So how do you guys drive the most impressions to your ad?

What kind of demo is it? If it's dating, then forget about lowering your CPC bid down to your AVG CPC or to your lowered suggestion bid. Bring it back to 55c-60c and wait for FB to naturally bring it down slowly. At this point, you won't be able to force down your bid without affecting your volume, so it's either raising your CTR to get lower cpc clicks, or sticking to a 60c cpc bid.

Also, if you are targeting a range of ages, create some ads breaking down a single age in each one, you should be able to find some of those ranges at better CTR, thus you'll get low 30c/high 20c clicks.

Data Disappeared

I was just wondering why my clicks on the reporting dashboard went down, then I notice that even the daily spend disappeared!

All my impressions, clicks and spend on February 8 disappeared. Anybody have had this happen?

Thanks bro. Yes it's dating. What do you mean by "waiting for fb to bring down cpc naturally" ? They won't automatically adjust my bids do they?

They won't adjust your cpc bid, but your avg cpc will go down as long as your CTR is steadily raising.

A thought:

3,811,600 USA Men 25+ Interested in Women/Single * average offer payout of 4.5$ =

$17,152,200

3,196,000 USA Women 25+ Interested in Men/Single * average offer payout of 5$ =

$15,980,000

That's a TOTAL USA potential market size of about 30 million, and thats assuming every single person can be converted.

What can I say, it's profitable for now, but is it sustainable? I assume ~1000 affiliates are doing it/attempting it.

That's a small ass fucking pie when you're sharing with that many.

Edit: yes there are international demos, but this one dwarfs the others put together.
