This is a classic:

cool video showing planet size vs star size. mind blowing.

this stuff makes me realize how insignificant our problems really are...like the economy, or fat people.

makes you realize how insignificant your existence is =/
We are all just time-traveling stardust, here for a short time.
Embrace it, its realization will make you want to help those around you, as they are going through similar things.
And because this is WF, obligatory-

$100 that suicide after watching that planet/star/galaxy/universe size comparison video is actually the real cause of a significant proportion of drug-related deaths.

conversely, a typical human is made up of 7*10^27 atoms. that's

7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms.

I'd say it's pretty significant that 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 collections of little point electric charges could get together to make something that thinks and breathes. That means approximately 2.3*10^28 protons, 1.8*10^28 neutrons, and 2.3*10^28 electrons (all approximate).

I don't think anyone here can fathom 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or more of anything.

This thread is funny to me.

No one can fathom a number even close to that, but I am sure it all happened by accident?

Nice. I saw this a while back and meant to embed it here but got distracted I guess. Knew you guys would like it.

that equation is incomplete, it doesn't take into account a planet like jupiter protecting the earth from regular astroid/comet hits, a moon that crafted the earth surface to be suitable for intelligent life to evolve and some more factors, so the total number is way off, but with 400 billions of stars the possibilities are exciting for our own milkyway and not including the hundred of billions of galaxies.
