The hypocrisy of Pace Lattin and industrypace.com

Dude, I don't know what to say, I'm sorry. You obviously got on this board because you are upset with me, so I'm sorry.

Pace is short for Pesach, which is my Hebrew name. I chose to use this in 1998 for religious reasons, I'm not going to go in debt into my orthodox jewish background on this board and my current religion.

Dude.... Just send everyone one last email asking if they want to sign up and then never spam those who don't subscribe ever again. That's the law, that's the standard you've held everyone up to all this time, so how can you expect us to accept anything else from the "compliance and fraud fighter of the industry".

I think it's better to have a list of 500 people on your list that respect you instead of 50,000 that know you're spamming them.

And what would spam cop, spamhaus and your email service provider have to say about this?

Roger, you are 100% correct, which is why we have been (if you notice, the complaints) been emailing slowly the people who were added with double-optins, and they will not be receiving the emails. I appreciate your advice, and again, my apologies. Most of the people in the publications have been with me for a long time, some of them for 10 years reading ADBUmb, ADOTAS and other publications.

Again, I agree with you 100% and this wont happen again. If anyone has advice on how to move forward, would love it, my email is at pace@industrypace.com

I have been speaking to my ESP, which helped me institute the confirmation request as per the WickedFire suggestions.

Procedure for Handling Complaints
We have a strict anti-spam policy. Your account will be immediately terminated if you send spam. Spam is defined as unsolicited mass email to persons with whom you do not have a business relationship or have not requested (opted-in to) your mailing. iContact is intended for businesses and organizations who have an established list of permission-based opt-in email addresses. We provide our product only to those who follow our no tolerance, anti-spam policy. Using the system to send out emails to addresses obtained in any way other than a subscriber opting-in to your list may incur a $100.00 (US) charge per substantiated incident (i.e., per email) in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Anti Spam Policy - iContact

I'm sending an email to abuse@icontact.com - Ya'll might want to as well ;)

I only read like half of this thread. I came here looking for good old fashioned WF drama and just couldn't manage to give a fuck enough about the topic to get involved. Shame.

If this is linkbait or a PR stunt or whatever, someone needs to do a better job of drumming up interest. This one sucked.

The reason you're different is because you are a hypocrite. You bitch about how this industry is no longer ethical, and then you turnaround spam people who never subscribed.

For as much blather that has gone on itt I think this is the point with the most clarity. The douche emails me and then complains like a little bitch on his blog about compliance and ethics.

So anyone figure out for sure what network gave up the emails? The email I was subscribed under is one I haven't used for any network in 2+ years... Only network I can think of off the top of my head that I haven't changed that email address with (since I use a different account now) is Affiliate.com...

Someone else figured it out, read the thread, they will tell you. I don't want to expose other networks, but my policy from now on is that the networks have to email the subscribers themselves to join any of my publications.

Again, my apologies to everyone, it will NOT happen again which is why we sent out resubscribe links to everyone subscribed in the last week.

For those who think I'm going to sue someone, not going to happen, I sincerely respect people's criticism and hope to learn from them. I think the John Lemp Clickbooth vs. Jon Wickedfire fiasco (i can't even find those threats anymore) showed no one wins in these things. People are 100% entitled to their criticism and Jon said it right.

I am ashamed I actually took the time to fully read this thread, though I found it hard to avert my eyes as if watching a spectacular trainwreck.

The picture below accurately represents Pace's reputation.

I did not think Pace could make himself look ever creepier, but he just defied all expectations...

/facepalm

Obviously the e-mail lists came from his former employer, affiliate.com. I'm getting his messages through an e-mail I exclusively set up with cpa empire... Ironic how he advocates regulations, compliance and fights fraud.

And, btw, I never got a confirmation request. All I get are unsolicited messages from industrypace AND affpace.

Frankly, I have no problem with you sending opt-in requests - hell, at least you sent the opt-in request. My problem is that a network gave up their email address list to a third-party...
