#2 on frontpage earlier today with title "I just got this in the mail...": I just got this in the mail.. - Album on Imgur

and interestingly he was pretty open about it being him on /r/entrepreneur: I created Dicksbymail.com Yesterday we sold 2000 bags of dicks. Today I need your help to fulfill them. : Entrepreneur although he denies he made the frontpage post

personally, i think bullshit... he definitely made the frontpage post.

excellent marketing. seems that even though everyone on reddit knew they were being gamed, it still worked.
 
lame.. I hope they get no orders, go broke and end up having to eat all the bags of dicks themselves to avoid starvation. Poetic justice.
 
I like it. I think its awesome how fast you can take something from concept -> orders in literally a week or two. Easy five figure rip.

LoL. All I hear is "waaaaaaa". Someone's going to make mad bank off an idea that took them no more than a couple or three hours to execute and it sounds like you're more than a little jealous.

Why would I be jealous? He's going to make say $30k over the next month after the flippa listing, then fad will be over, and traffic to the site will plummet.

Kudos to him I guess, but by no means is that brilliant though. Finding a breakthrough in cancer research, or a new technology that changes the way we live, or a new vaccine for Ebola, or SpaceX flying missions to the ISS. Now that's brilliant. Packaging & mailing gummy dicks for a living is not.

Money is MONEY .Doesn't matter i get it as a fool or wise person .If situation allows , Id rather be a fool and make millions than making couple hundred bucks being a wise person .

I don't think it will fade as quickly as we like to think.

The proprietary thing here is being FIRST. Being the known brand, the famous one with all the news, the one that everyone's talking about.

The hook is going through the originator which carries the attachments, not dealing with any copycat that comes later. You buy the Shamwow because of Vince and his lunacy, not the knockoff because the knockoff doesn't have the story of Vince attached.

We often forget, we buy things to be apart of the story. Buy this and you do, buy the competitor and well, you become apart of no story other than reinforcing some trend hopper.
