What started off as just a pissing contest between myself and Kiopa_Matt has now become a full blown e-peen contest.


Who the fuck cares?

Nobody but you can watch as we make fools of ourselves for your general amusement. Laugh at us wasting time when we could be doing something productive like making money.


Why are you wasting my time?

I'm looking for suggestions on what the app should do. Kiopa_Matt has suggested a rank tracker plus social signals with time frame of one week.

Got a better idea, let me know in this thread or this one.

Or completely ignore this thread for the complete waste of time that it is.

Acidie, you lose because I think being object-oriented is better than procedural!

I'd rather measure the circumference of your asshole. It would take a fraction of the time and probably be more accurate.

In to watch cool shit get built, though.

Should probably be someone who actually codes as a part of a team (not a lone wolf programmer), who actually understands basic computer science concepts, and who regularly participates in things like code reviews - since that's essentially what this would be.
 
Load times are important. Please make sure Grindstone thoroughly tests both of your loads.

Maybe the entrants could rate each others work, giving them a score out of 10 or something with some actual constructive criticism. I feel the entrants themselves wouldn't treat it as a popularity contest. That said, I don't really mind - I likely don't have time to enter something like this right now anyway.

If this ever happens, I think the code of both participants should be available online for all of us to see, and perhaps even create a panel of judges (at least 3) like in boxing. ;)

I actually think they should develop an app that all of us can use. Sort of like a WF exclusive tool. Rank trackers are boring, we all have a bunch we're already using.
 
Could be a tool that analyzes some large popular sites for most active segments, topics, most shared pages, most used phrases, etc. Something like a trend spotter.
 
The only thing I want to say is that these type of contests will liven up the forum a bit, which is nice and good.

I say that creativity also matters, so if I knew how to make an app, I would create something related to wickedfire. For example, pick a WF Hero (we have plenty like CEO Sam, Grunin etc.) and then you can let the user do random shit to his face, have them beat each other, insert popular quotes from the forums etc.

Most of that is front-end. On that note though, it would be epic if the forum could throw together $200 to get a 3d model of either of them (or pewep) created that could be used in a contest for best app using it......................................... I'd donate 3d models for props, audi a4, prison cell, whatev.
