I ordered a link from him from his thread here:
http://www.wickedfire.com/links-and-seo/182260-editorial-links-top-magazines.html

The thread is now closed (why?) , and he hasn't been answering to my PMs for many days... He used to answer very quickly up until I pointed out to him last week that there were major issues with the service he provided (kinda looks like a scam, the "editorial link" he promised was placed in an "unpublished" article which can only be accessed through a direct link to the page.

I would like to either get a refund or for him to finish the job (make the article "published"), but he is simply not answering... Anyone knows what's going on? I really hope I can get this sorted out.

If I cant reach him and this doesnt get settled, do you think that it's possible to request paypal to issue a refund?

Thanks.

Uhm, What? Why?...

a) Publicly calling someone out like this is a big deal -- don't do it over stupid shit like this.

b) You paid what? $150 for a link? Suck it up sweetheart, and welcome to the world of online business.

c) If something this small bothers you this much, you should probably start looking for a 9 - 5.

While this might be the wrong section, publicly calling someone out like this is NOT a big deal, and in fact, is/should be encouraged. That is why Zingo opened this thread. The OP is doing the Gay Webmaster community a favor by bringing attention to this issue, so other people don't get burned. And you get all pissy?!!?!

Regardless of what dollar amount at issue is, potential scammers should be dealt with on this board. The BST would go to shit quickly if we let scammers get away with crap.

c) If something this small bothers you this much, you should probably start looking for a 9 - 5.

Thanks for the sage advice...

WTF, wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning or something?

First of all, if being scammed is not a good reason enough to call out someone then what is? And just to clarify, technically, I'm not calling out anyone just yet, i'm asking a question, casting doubt on someone who might be a scammer, perhaps other people who've been dealing with ChristopherT know what's going on (maybe he is sick or on vacation or whatever), or maybe they know for a fact that he's a scammer and could confirm this...

Secondly, it doesn't matter how much I paid, if he's a scammer, it would be in everyone's best interest to know.

Finally, yes it bothers me to be scammed, forget the money and time wasted, it's just not right. I dont see why you feel the need to defend a potential scammer...

Oh and although I didn't ask for it, I appreciate your initiative in giving me such insightful and thoughtful advice on finding a 9 - 5, unfortunately it's been so long I haven't had one of those, i'm pretty sure I could never do it again... but I have to admit, it's true that would have solved the issue of dealing with douchebags in the world of online business :/

I ordered a few links from him ~10 days ago (first order), none have been delivered so far. I sent him a PM and asked about the progress, he answered on Friday and said he'd update me shortly.

I'm inclined to think that he's just busy, wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet, but who knows. I'll keep you updated.

Doesn't matter offline or online business .With your attitude , you will have to deal with "douchebags" in the world of offline business/your work place if you go there .

LOL, ^^^ this folks is why you shouldn't start "*** is a scammer?" threads without first figuring out WTF is going on.

So the seller delivered something and "disappeared" for 2 days of weekend and you start a thread with "Scammer" in title?

The thread is now closed (why?)

You should know by now, after 7 years on the forum.

Just to clarify again, I didn't say ChristopherT is a scammer, I was asking if he was because I was getting very suspicious.

On Nov 20th I sent the payment for an editorial link to ChristopherT. Before passing the order I exchanged a few messages with him, he was very nice and always answered very quickly.

After he delivered my order, I pointed out a few issues. For example, he didn't use the anchor link I had specified. I asked if this could be fixed. Initially the answer was yes he could change it, then he told me he'd have to look into it and get back to me... After waiting for a while i sent him a followup message and suddenly his tone changed, he just basically told me that I got what I paid for and that's it... This was on Dec 2nd, I sent him 2 message after that which are still unanswered.

The anchor text issue is not a big deal... But, if you look at christopherT's thread, you'll see that :

"Your post will be published by an actual editor of the magazine ."

The main issue is that the editorial post with my link is actually in an "unpublished" status. This means the post cannot be found on the site and it doesn't appear to be indexed in google either, you need to know the url to see the post. Interestingly I can see that anyone can register an account on this site and submit articles, these articles are then reviewed by the editorial staff of the magazine which decide which ones get published. At this point it doesn't seem like ChristopherT has anyone working in the actual editorial team with real power to publish the articles, so if he wants to sell this service he should instead advertise it as :

"Your post will be SUBMITTED to an online magazine and will be reviewed by their editorial staff to maybe get a chance to get published"

If that was how he advertised his service then I wouldn't have anything to say, but I definitively wouldn't pay 150$ for that. My goal here is not to get a refund, my goal is to get what I paid for, if that is not possible then sure, a refund will do.

I apologize if my thread offended some people, I dont want beef, and yes, perhaps I could have worded my initial thread / post a little differently, and maybe I could have also been a little more patient, but overall it's been dragging on for weeks and it's "funny" that within hours of posting this thread I finally hear from ChristopherT (although my PMs are still unanswered)...

Yes, it is a big deal, because you're (potentially) screwing with someone's livelihood and income stream. Don't do it unless you know what you're talking about, because you're also putting your own reputation on the line just as much as the person you're calling out.

Not to mention, how often have you complained in this fashion, then walked away happy with a smile? Never, right? Complaining like this basically never yields a positive result, so what's the point?
