Obama supports plan for mosque near ground zero



Ok - seriously, what the fuck is the problem with building a mosque in lower Manhattan? 1+ billion Muslims in the world is NOT the same thing as Al Qaeda. Stop being ridiculous, stop hating, and realize that they've got a right to be there. No different than a church, temple, or anything else.

religious freedom was one of the major founding principles of our country. you dont want a mosque built on private property several blocks from where an extremist group blew up buildings? move somewhere that doesn't have religious freedom then. should be lots of fun.
 
Religious freedom means you have the freedom to choose between Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopal, Lutheran, ... .

Really, there is no reason for it. It's common fucking sense, move the fucking thing 10 blocks on down the road out of respect and everyone wins. You get your "community center" and people get piece of mind.

Problem is IMO muslims in general don't respect non-muslims, 9/11, or the country as a whole.

this seems like more of an issue of everyone like you not respecting them. a very clear-cut issue of that.

How, might I ask, do you presume that "muslims in general" do not respect non-muslims and/or their country?
 
I can actually confirm what ly2 just said to 90% accuracy.

While liberal, agnostic muslims generally are good and honest people, religious muslims preach hate towards jews, christians and the whole western culture. I'm talking about the "blind faith" type of people who just don't know any better. Try going to a mosque and listening to the sermons.

Is it any wonder why Muslims were celebrating worldwide when 9/11 happened? I witnessed this first hand when people were trying to sell me Osama Bin Laden's tshirts walking by a mosque, at which point I give Islam the middle finger and start believing in Aliens with lactating nipples.

Why do the move to America to begin with? Islam is dangerous, how many times do you see muslims hanging out with white people drinking a couple of beers. I've seen muslims playing soccer with guns in their pockets because they believe one day the world will try to destroy their religion and it's their holy duty to protect it. LOL?

From my general interaction with them.

You'll notice I said "in general" meaning not all.

Also I don't subscribe to PC bullshit you may be used to, I subscribe to what I see, hear, and feel in my own life.

The point is, why do they need this thing next to ground zero? They know it's a sensitive area and it's going to stir people up, so why do it? Why not do the respectable thing and move the mother fucker down the road? IMO the answer is simply that they have no respect for 9/11, ground zero, or America in general.
