Not sure I'll ever get a Mac again - Their support sucks. I have a crack in the wrist-wrest of my Macbook due to a known design flaw. I have friends who've had theirs replaced in the store, in a day, but the Apple store near me claims they don't have the parts, and don't have the "space" to repair it in the store (I hear a 3ft x 3ft desk takes up a lot of space...), and they need to send the whole laptop out for a week to get the wrist-wrest replaced. I'l go there to see if someone else can order the part and get someone to repair it at the store, but if that doesn't work, I'll be call Apple's tech support to see if they can force the store to repair it at the store.

I've been all-Dell before this, and I had next-business-day on-site (home, business, whereever I was) repair service, for basically the same price I paid for an extended AppleCare contract.

I love the computer, the OS, and the battery life, but their support for a manufacturer's defect seems pretty poor to me.

What johu said for sure. I love the design (though the build quality in every apple product i own has sucked the left one), the operating system, etc. but they're not willing to help with anything - and like I said, their build quality blows.

I've had the video card in my Macbook Pro fail not once but three times. The first two times they replaced it under warranty, this time they won't. For some reason, they replaced a known bad video card (the 8600M GT series) with another one from the same batch of bad cards twice. Apple's acknowledged there's an issue. My iPod Touch's headphone jack stopped working after about a year and a half usage last night and the wifi seems to be fucked too, also not willing to help.

I'm running a Hackintosh as my main computer. I recommend you do too.

I used to be into PC, as I had an eight-year old Windows ME from the beige age. I help onto that for as long as possible, then when it finally breathed it's last, I got a Macbook, and I've been a convert ever since.

You just can't beat the versatility and functionability of the Mac.

Windows ME was fucking terrible. I can't believe your computer lasted 8 years running ME and you didn't go crazy in the process.

Oh, I did sir, I did. And you are absolutely correct. Windows ME = worst operating system in Windows history, hands down, period.

mac all the way I've had my MBP for four years and never had a prob except the lithium ion batteries suck ass had three go bad so far but the computer itself has been stellar

Yea after a year of use I had to replace the battery on my MBP. I kept it plugged in during the entire summer as a desktop replacement, so that had something to do with it.

MAC is a line professional fashion makeup, I'm sure you meant Mac/Macintosh or Apple Computer. :D hehe.

I originally switched to a PowerMac G4 733mhz, back in 2001, switched back to my PC after bout 3 months when it kept crashing on me and very few developer-friendly applications were available for OSX 10.0 at the time.

Got a Macbook in early 2008, been on that ever since, only ever really loaded windows (on vmware fusion) to see how some websites rendered in IE.

I'd actually say Windows 95 rev.a was marginally worse. I used windows since 2.0 EGA, and at the time with an MSDN subscription I would get the play with each version of windows. In my opinion I preferred to use (as they came out) :

Windows 3.1
Windows 98SE
Windows 2000 Pro
Windows XP SP2/3
...
OSX 10.5/6 :D
