i was laying in bed, trying to sleep, and i realize i have a shitty matress, anyone have any suggestions?

If you have the money, go with a Stearns & Foster. There is no competition as far as quality mattresses go.

If you can't afford an S&F, Sealy or Simmons both make quality beds. I used to sell beds so I know a little something about it.

Foam mattresses are where its at. (gay)It feels like you are sleeping on a cloud (/gay)

my mattress was like 2k I don't know the name but it's got a layer of tempurpedic material. The bad thing is the mattress is so comfortable that I can't sleep anywhere else but home.

I recently got a Serta St. Charles Eurotop mattress and box spring - aside from the huge increase in size from a Queen to a King (Not Cal King, narrow piece of shit) - its super comfortable.

The one thing I found out is that its really, really, really hard to judge a mattress just by brand or model - Brand seems be an indicator of general or usual quality and longevity versus how comfortable it actually is. I got a bunch of reccomendations on mattresses and every one I tried was uncomfortable as fuck. Finally, a lady there said try this one and it was the one.

Go to Macys or a mattress store and lay on every fucking one before making a decision.

Spend as much as you can on a great quality mattress.

Amazing how some people will shell out $40K for a vehicle they only use ~1 hour a day, but balk at spending $4K on a bed they sleep on for ~8 hours a day.

Those ones with pillow tops are pretty great. I've seen commercials for those posturepedic beds and they look like the bomb too. The one person I ever met who slept in one said they never wanted to get out of bed.

This is both a fucking RANDOM and AWESOME thread in that I am getting ready to buy all new furniture and question #1 is what kind of a bed do I want.

I know some hotels sell there beds (not used ones), i.e. the Hilton. I was thinking about getting one of my favorite hotel beds...California King with foam top.

Thinkin about getting a Seally Pillowtop myself. Ready to buy in the next 30 days. Anyone got a reflink to mattress seller?

i was thinking of getting the tempurpedic, are they worth the $? anyone here have one? Ill spend anything if the bed is worth it, 1/3 of my day is spent in bed, might as well be comfortable

I really heart my Simmons Beautyrest

My hubby and I would second this. If you sleep with anyone you need to seriously look into these. I'm a flopper (according to hubby) I bounce and flip all night and he would bounce and flip right along with me. Then when we were in Vail for a wedding we slept in a nice resort with this mattress that was like sleeping on heaven. He said he never felt me move all night (and while maybe I did move less cause it was so comfortable, you can't keep a flopper down!!) They had a little brochure next to the mattress that said something like "Bet you slept really well and want to know what mattress you're sleeping on" (talk about fantastic marketing) We went straight home and bought what the brochure said : The Do Not Disturb Collection

Mike,
I was gonna buy a tempurpedic but one thing a sales rep pointed out is that some people like them an others dont. I figured it supported every part of your body an was perfect , then I tried it. I hated it you sink down and there is difference in firmness choice for it but still wasnt like the oak board i like to sleep on. I ended up getting Simons Beauty Rest just like sleeping onthe cement floor , perfect.
