I did one of these threads last summer and hopefully some of you people have upgraded from Windows 98 since then.

Windows XP with a hacked uxtheme.dll file (click on image for full size):

Pretty slick man. Any recommendations on finding the uxtheme.dll file?

subigo, I love your desktop, especially since its Windows XP - Any chacne you could toss me any tutorials or sites you used to accomplish what you have?

Sure thing, it's pretty simple.

1. Patch your uxtheme.dll file (this is for sp3): Download SP3 UxTheme Patcher 1.2 - This little patch will enable the user to have his own unsigned themes ready to use on the new Service Pack 3 install. - Softpedia

2. Go here for the basic theme and wallpaper: Windows 7 PDC Theme for XP by =Vishal-Gupta on deviantART

3. Delete your quickstart icons and replace them with objectdock: Stardock ObjectDock

4. Use this clear objectdock background: http://skewism.com/videos/WTB-Gloss.zip

5. Use start killer to kill the start menu (you'll add a start menu docklet in objectdock): Start Killer - Remove the Start Button from the taskbar

All of the changes, along with the dock, use about 4mb's of ram on my system.

I was gonna clean up my desktop for this occasion, but F-it...might as well be authentic. I have organizational problems!
