So I saw this special on 20/20 on friday night about people using a treadmill as a work station. ABC News: Do Treadmills at the Office Work? It's not a new concept I had read about it before and thought it interesting and then forgot about it. After watching it on Friday and how easy it was to do and how healthy you could get, not to mention how easily the pounds melt away, I decided to try it. All I had to do was put a piece of wood on top of my treadmill (that I already had) and VOILA! I have one of those treadmill work stations (without pay 7K for it!)
It's incredibly ugly but that's ok, as it's in the incredibly ugly misc room in my house (guestroom/excersise room/tv room for my son/study for my husband). We're thinking that if this works and I can get used to it and enjoy it, then we'll go more posh with a flatscreen on a swivel mount and a remote keyboard on the treadmill with my laptop in a docking station.
Anyway, Most people would have no interest in this as they work a 9-5 in an office and they are at the mercy of what the office wants to do. However, I figured some of you wf's who might like to get off your ass during the day, burn an extra 500-1000 calories aday, and still get some work done would be interested.
