Kind of weird to ban someone before they post, but whatever. Something people should realize, netiquette extends to IM's as well. Particularly when they don't know the person they are IM'ing.

That's my pet peeve by the way. I read somewhere that people who don't capitalize their "I's" have low self esteem. It seems to be true more often than not.

Vitae actually capitalizes about half his I's. Mostly at the beginning of sentences, but there are lots of others.

He obviously considers himself only half douchebag.
 
Well, the guy did nothing wrong to get banned? Why didn't you just look up his "lost" post like a moderator should? Isn't it your job to help... Posting a convo like this doesn't help. He clearly doesn't seem like the "asshole" you portrayed him to be.. Whatever.

step 1, find SN of moderator
step 2, engage in jackassery via IM
step 3, namedrop desired user who you want banned
step 4, continue jackassery until banhammer drops
step 5, ...
step 6, profit.

poor tester. never saw it coming.

i also read somewhere that supporting the decision to fire away at something that may not be what it seems is often a sign of low self esteem, lack of critical thinking skills, or both. i don't have any solid evidence such as a yahoo answers question to support this though.
